The Jordan Beetdiggers boys cross country team won the 4A Region 10 championship with 31 points, putting four runners in the top nine at the Cottonwood Complex.

Jordan's 31 points nearly tripled second-place Judge Memorial, which scored 77, according to the Deseret News. Juan Diego (85), Park City (89), Cottonwood (111), Highland (130), Murray (190) and East (252) rounded out the eight-team field.

Senior Isaac Brande won the individual title, crossing in 15:47.3. Sophomore Benji Anderson finished second at 15:54.7, giving Jordan the top two spots in the race.

The depth told the story.

Junior Ethan Johnson placed fifth (16:32.3) and freshman Wells Stevens ninth (16:44.7), meaning Jordan had four of the first nine runners across the line. Senior Beau Bostwick finished 14th (16:59.6) to complete the Beetdiggers' scoring five. All five scorers finished in the top 14 of the field.

Sophomores Brysen Smith (16th, 17:05.2) and Nash Jenson (18th, 17:08.2) also ran for Jordan. The seven Beetdigger runners spanned a gap of just 1 minute, 20.9 seconds from Brande's first-place finish to Jenson's 18th.

On the girls' side, Jordan finished third in the Region 10 standings with 108 points, behind Highland (30) and Park City (32). Junior Katie Twitchell was the top Beetdigger finisher, placing fourth overall in 19:37.8. Highland and Park City separated by just two points for the girls' team title.

Both Jordan squads now turn to the 4A Divisional meet, scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 14, at Lakeside Park in Orem. Qualifiers from that race advance to the 4A state championship meet Wednesday, Oct. 28, at Sugarhouse Park.
