Four concerts at the Sandy Amphitheater, seven professional soccer matches at America First Field, the annual Heritage Festival and a 9/11 memorial display fill Sandy venues in September.
Event listings compiled by the Deseret News and local venue calendars show at least 15 ticketed or free events across the city between Sept. 2 and Sept. 27.
Sandy Amphitheater
The outdoor venue at 9400 S. 1300 East opens the month with Air Supply on Wednesday, Sept. 2, at 7:30 p.m. Royal Bliss performs The Tom Petty Tribute Experience on Saturday, Sept. 12, at 7:30 p.m. Mat Kearney plays two nights, Friday, Sept. 18, and Saturday, Sept. 19, at 7 p.m. Zeppelin USA closes the run on Saturday, Sept. 26, at 7 p.m.
Gates open one hour before showtime. Tickets are available through the box office or Ticketmaster, according to the Sandy Journal. Parking is free but limited. Concert-goers may bring lawn chairs, blankets, coolers with no loose ice, and factory-sealed food and beverages.
America First Field

Real Salt Lake has four Saturday home matches, all at 7:30 p.m.: Sept. 5 vs. Los Angeles FC, Sept. 12 vs. New York City FC, Sept. 19 vs. Vancouver Whitecaps FC and Sept. 26 vs. New England Revolution.
The Utah Royals also play three home games: Friday, Sept. 4, vs. Boston Legacy FC at 7:30 p.m.; Sunday, Sept. 20, vs. Angel City FC at 5 p.m.; and Sunday, Sept. 27, vs. North Carolina at 5 p.m.
Heritage Festival and community events
The Sandy City Heritage Festival returns to Main Street Park, 90 E. Main St. NowPlayingUtah.com lists the festival on Saturday, Sept. 19, while the Deseret News lists it on Sept. 18. Sandy City Community Events organizes the annual celebration, which features a parade. Residents should confirm the date with Sandy City at 801-568-7161.
The Sandy City Healing Fields opens at Promenade Park from Thursday, Sept. 10, through Monday, Sept. 14. The display features more than 3,000 American flags honoring lives lost on Sept. 11, 2001, according to the Sandy Journal.
The Sandy City Farmers Market continues Saturdays at Sandy Amphitheater Park through Oct. 17, a collaboration between Sandy City and Empowered Community Markets.
Theater
Hale Centre Theatre in Sandy has three productions running through the fall: "Our Town" and "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat," both through Oct. 24, and "Moriarty: A New Sherlock Holmes Adventure" through Nov. 14.
