The print shop at 9247 South State Street has a new name but the same 21 employees, the same owner and the same clients who've counted on it.
AlphaGraphics Sandy officially became Nuance Ink on Tuesday, Aug. 4, owner Andy Selcho announced in a press release published by Utah Business. The rebrand signals a deeper push into apparel decoration, including embroidery and branded gear, while keeping the shop's existing print, graphics, signage and packaging work intact.
"This is not change for the sake of change," Selcho said. "Nuance Ink gives us a name that better reflects how we already think about our work and where we are headed. We are still the same team, in the same place, serving customers the same way."
Pricing, systems and the full staff of 21 remain unchanged. So does the client roster, which includes signage and related projects for Smith Entertainment Group, the Utah Jazz and the Utah Mammoth.
Nearly 11,000 square feet on State Street
The facility sits across from America First Field and north of the Jordan Commons Megaplex Theatres, occupying nearly 11,000 square feet. According to AlphaGraphics corporate materials, the location has been recognized as one of the top 100 quick and small commercial printers in the country.
That stretch of State Street is seeing significant investment. Smith Entertainment Group, which owns the Jazz and Mammoth, acquired the 111-acre former Shops at South Town site in August 2024 and is building a sports campus there, according to an SEG announcement. The Utah Mammoth Ice Center opened in September 2025, a Jazz practice facility is under construction targeting a 2027 opening, and a 60,000-square-foot Intermountain Health Sports Performance Center is planned for 2028. SEG has developed roughly 10 percent of the property so far.
For Nuance Ink, the proximity to a growing client means the rebrand arrives at a moment when Sandy's commercial corridor is expanding around it.
What customers should expect
The new website is live at nuanceink.com and lists five service categories: print, signs, promo, apparel and packaging. Selcho said the company wants to go beyond filling orders, asking clients why a piece is being printed and who will see it.
Customers can reach Nuance Ink at 9247 South State Street and through the new website.
