Kathleen Anderson, a Republican, is running for Salt Lake County Council At Large, Seat A in the Nov. 3, 2026, general election. The at-large seat represents all Salt Lake County residents, including Sandy.

Anderson said in her BallotReady questionnaire that she is running "to bring common sense, accountability, and taxpayer respect back to County Hall." She listed six priorities: respect for taxpayers, support for local business, safer public spaces, honest budgeting, clean leadership and county government that works.

She did not address other policy areas in her questionnaire.

Anderson has twice sought federal office. She ran for U.S. Representative in Utah's 4th Congressional District at the 2020 Republican convention and for Utah's 2nd Congressional District special election at the 2023 Republican convention, according to Wikipedia's page on the 2026 Salt Lake County Council election.

Four other candidates are in the race: Zach Robinson (Democratic), Gregory Beglarian (Constitution), Maleah Bliss Caulford (Forward Party) and Olghen Ocean Saintelus (Unaffiliated). The general election is Nov. 3, 2026.
