Candidates running for the U.S. House, state Senate, Salt Lake County Council, district attorney and sheriff will appear at the Sandy Senior Center on Wednesday, Oct. 14 at 10 a.m.

The event is part of a countywide Candidate Days series organized by Salt Lake County Aging & Adult Services, ABC4 reported. The series brings local candidates to senior centers across the county so older adults can hear presentations and ask questions before the Tuesday, Nov. 3 general election.

Sandy's event will be held at 9310 S. 1300 East. Each candidate will give a short presentation, followed by about 30 minutes to meet with attendees.

Paul Leggett, division director of Salt Lake County Aging & Adult Services, said the program gives participants a chance to connect with candidates, learn about the issues and ask questions directly. He called the events an opportunity for older adults to stay informed and engaged in their communities.

The Sandy Senior Center is one of the county's busiest. The center draws more than 1,400 individual participants each year, offers 42 weekly classes and logs roughly 9,500 volunteer hours, according to a June 2026 presentation to the Sandy City Council by Council Member Brooke D'Sousa, who serves as the center's liaison.

The countywide Candidate Days schedule runs through Oct. 29, with stops at 11 senior centers across Salt Lake County. The series began Oct. 7 and includes centers in Draper, Kearns, South Salt Lake, West Jordan, Taylorsville, Mt. Olympus and Millcreek, among others.
