Real Salt Lake's saves-to-donations program with Draper-based Swire Coca-Cola will continue through the 2026 season, the club announced Tuesday, July 28, meaning every goalkeeper stop at America First Field in Sandy generates a charitable donation to Special Olympics Utah.
During the 2025 season, Swire Coca-Cola donated $100 for every save RSL captain and goalkeeper Rafael Cabral recorded at the Sandy stadium, with all proceeds going to Special Olympics Utah athletes, according to RSL's Facebook page. The club confirmed the program's return in a post on X on July 28.
The club has not announced the 2026 per-save amount or a running donation total.
Draper bottler backs Sandy stadium program
Swire Coca-Cola, one of the largest Coca-Cola bottlers in the American West with operations across 13 states, is headquartered in Draper, immediately adjacent to Sandy, according to ConstructConnect. The company reports annual revenues exceeding $3 billion.
Kyle Schroeder, RSL's vice president of community and player engagement, oversees the club's community programs including its long-running relationship with Special Olympics. In a May interview with KSL Sports about RSL Unified, the club's Special Olympics team that has operated since 2016, Schroeder called the partnership "a pinnacle for our athletes. They're getting to play inside professional stadiums. It's the dream of everyone who plays the sport of soccer to reach that professional level."
That quote addressed RSL Unified broadly, not the Swire saves program specifically, but it reflects the club's investment in Special Olympics partnerships.
Five home games ahead
Sandy residents will have plenty of chances to watch the saves add up. RSL returns to America First Field for five games in 15 days starting Tuesday, August 4, when the club opens Leagues Cup 2026 against Liga MX's Tigres UANL, according to RSL.com. The home stretch also includes Atlante FC on Saturday, August 8; FC Juarez on Tuesday, August 11; Minnesota United on Saturday, August 15; and FC Dallas on Saturday, August 22.
The club is riding a 13-game sellout streak. Tickets for all five matches are available at RSL.com/tickets.
