Real Salt Lake's Zavier Gozo competes against some of the biggest names in soccer Tuesday, July 28, when the 19-year-old Eagle Mountain native takes part in the 2026 MLS All-Star Skills Challenge at Truist Field in Charlotte, North Carolina.
The broadcast begins at 5:30 p.m. MT on MLS Season Pass through the Apple TV app.
Gozo joins a field that includes Son Heung-min of LAFC, Thomas Müller of the Vancouver Whitecaps, Evander of FC Cincinnati, Petar Musa of FC Dallas, and Charlotte FC captain Tim Ream, according to Bolavip. Lionel Messi received a league exemption to rest after the 2026 World Cup final.
The Skills Challenge features four individual events: a shooting challenge, passing challenge, Goalie Wars, and crossbar challenge, each crowning its own champion before an MLS vs. Liga MX relay finale, per Squawka.
Gozo earned his spot after being named to the MLS All-Star First XI on June 5, becoming the first Utah native ever selected to the squad. He is only the second teenager picked for the All-Star Game in the last five editions of the event, according to KSL Sports.
He's 19 years old.
The homegrown RSL Academy product entered the World Cup break with six goals and five assists through 14 matches, leading the club with 11 goal contributions. His five game-winning goals or assists were already the second-most by a teenager in a single MLS season, three shy of Diego Fagundez's league record of eight set with New England in 2013.
"For me he's a unicorn," RSL head coach Pablo Mastroeni said in a May 21 KSL Sports preview. "Very rarely do you have a guy that is as fast as he is that can maintain the speed and endurance over 90 minutes."
Gozo scored his first MLS goal just two days after graduating from high school. He is the third RSL Academy homegrown player to earn All-Star recognition, joining Justen Glad and Aaron Herrera, and RSL leads all MLS clubs all-time with 49 homegrown signees.
Real Salt Lake confirmed Gozo's participation on its X account Tuesday, July 28, encouraging fans to tune in for the 5:30 p.m. MT broadcast.
The All-Star Game itself follows Wednesday, July 29, at 6 p.m. MT on Apple TV, pitting MLS All-Stars against Liga MX All-Stars at Bank of America Stadium.
After All-Star week, RSL returns to America First Field in Sandy for the Leagues Cup home opener against Liga MX power Tigres UANL on Tuesday, August 4, at 8 p.m. MT. That kicks off five home games in 15 days. The club also hosts Atlante FC on Saturday, August 8, and FC Juarez on Tuesday, August 11, before returning to MLS play Saturday, August 15, against Minnesota United.
